Going is a perfect base for unlimited cross-country skiing within the 225 km network of nordic trail spread all over the region. Additionally, an array of cleared winter hiking trails amidst unspoilt nature landscapes is waiting for you in the foothills of the scenic Wilder Kaiser mountain range.
The entire Wilder Kaiser region boasts no less than 14.5 km of wonderful toboggan runs. 2 of them are floodlit and therefore ideal for adventures at night. Among the highlights rank the Astberg-Ellmau-Going (4.5 km) trail and the toboggan run between Hochsöll and Söll (3.5 km) as the mountain lifts are in operation as well (floodlit tracks until 2am). Further routes: romantic Tannbichlkapelle natural toboggan run in Going (2 km), Graspoint-Niederalm (3 km; toboggan rental) in Going, and the floodlit Steinacker trail in Scheffau.
Besides an array of wellness offers and indoor swimming pools you also find tennis and squash courts, an ice skating rink, a covered asphalt curling alley, and an air-rifle shooting range. A number of peacefully located farmhouses offer rest and relaxation in abundance.
No less than 77 km of wonderful cross-country skiing tracks lead across picture-book winter landscapes and deep green forests. The trails are connected to the regional nordic skiing network (e.g. St. Johann in Tirol) and offer routes for all preferences.
